Jay-dyn was hot. Unbelievably hot. She reached up a hand to touch her boiling, fevered head and immediately let it fall away, knowing the fever was reaching a crescendo.
She kept walking. Her mind filled with nothing but the crucial thought that she must continue forward.
Rest would surely bring the end. She was their only hope and that was enough to keep her moving through the dizziness and pain. If she didn’t find the City Lost in Sand all would be lost.
