So today is the last day for my mice

I have to perfuse them tomorrow though I’d much rather take them home and keep them as pets.

They’ve been through a lot lately, they weren’t losing weight fast enough so my supervisor made me calorie restrict them even more! And then the Animal House facility was supposed to feed them on the weekend but only fed them on one of the days The poor things, mice have very fast metabolisms and missing out on a days worth of food must have been horrible.

One of them has lost heaps more weight then the others. I feel even more sorry for him. I slipped him some extra food today, I can’t bare the thought of perfusing him tomorrow. I think he of all the 5 mice will be hardest. I’ll probably cry.

At least after this I only have to work with tissue. I never, EVER want to do an experiment like this again.
